Interested in nonprofit board service?

Building Blocks for Nonprofit Board Members will help you understand what it takes to be an effective board member. 

This training, developed in collaboration with the Virginia Network of Nonprofit Organizations (VANNO), provides an excellent introduction to the nonprofit sector, the life cycles of nonprofit organizations and their boards, an overview of board roles and responsibilities, and provides a variety of resources for continuing board development and growth. 

This workshop is ideal for anyone who is interested in board service, recently became a board member for the first time, or have board experience but would like a "refresher" on best practices. 

Upon successful completion of the workshop, participants who are looking for nonprofit board positions gain access to the BoardLink database, which is housed on the HandsOn Greater Richmond website, to search for board opportunities.

Refund policy:

The Partnership for Nonprofit Excellence reserves the right to cancel the workshop due to insufficient regsitration.  Please note that the Partnership is unable to offer a refund unless the workshop is canceled.  If you are unable to attend the workshop, someone from your organization is welcome to attend in your place or you are welcome to attend another session of the same workshop (Building Blocks for Nonprofit Board Members) within 90 days of the original workshop.
